I’m Peter McMillan. Enjoying retirement since 2019. Here you will find content about family, travel, track days, autocross, cycling, surfing, and Drupal.
October through December had pretty nice weather and I tried to get into the water to surf a couple of sessions per week.
I also got to the last two Autocross events of the season out at Crow’s Landing. Weather was good, driving was so-so.
In early October, we were still coming back from our Fall Colors tour of Colorado. We saw the colors and the cool ski towns of Telluride, Aspen and Breckenridge. Spent a few days in Boulder, Colorado Springs and then headed down through Santa Fe before coming back through Arizona.
We drove the San Juan Fall colors trail up to Telluride.
Went to Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs.
Rode the gondola up (and down) in Telluride.
Saw some desert funk on the way outbound.
When we got back, we participated in Poodle Day which is always a hoot.
Dogs eye view of the day.
From there, I got involved in a Porsche barn find. A neighbor has a 1974 Carerra that’s been sitting for nearly 20 years. We spent some time trying to figure out what it will take to get it started. I did a some documentation on the story of the car and research on the VIN and we found that he has a 1974 2.7 Carrera. We asked Mario to come over and do a consult which he did. However, the car is going to sit until we can develop a budget.
Not really in a barn, but the feeling is the same.
I continued some work projects at Spring St. involving the redwood tree stump and planning for some new gutters. At my house, Fall colors hit late in November while I was re-graveling some of our paths. Of course the swell started getting more consistent for surfing and you can't miss that. The first rain of the season produced a sunrise with a large rainbow.
Fall colors hit late here.
