2021 began with a trip to Palm Springs for our first dog show. Lynda and Leo were competing in confirmation, rally and obedience. The trip was successful and we all learned a lot about the difference between the movie and an event.
Due to the pandemic and home schooling and TKD via Zoom, we decide to permanently park the cars outside and change out the flooring from hard plastic tiles to rubber mats style tiles. This would give some extra give for workouts and TKD. By this time Lynda was also participating in TKD.
In an attempt to make our home a bit safer, we had some stairs and retaining installed in what had been a path we created during an earlier grading project.
We looked for fun rewards that could be used to keep us motivated with home schooling.
We continued to work on outfitting the Jeep for dog shows and weekend trips we were taking across the state. I was getting a few track days in and the kid figured out how to entertain himself.
We continued to look for outlets to get exercise and leave the house. We were in the middle of a remodel that addressed items not done in phase 1 of our upgrades. We moved back into the garage for a while. Lynda, Leo and Gunnar started going downtown for "hippie days". We removed a few big douglas fir trees. We went to swim lessons. We learned to shoot a bow and arrow. We practiced being cool.
We continued to get COVID boosters as they became available. I took Mom to a COVID friendly luncheon with her friends.
We went to Poodle Day and got setup for Halloween. We broke ground on the next big grading project; terrace, steps and astroturf.
We closed out the year with birthdays, taking all the cousins down to Carmel and getting the kids set up with bikes.
