In 2017, we started the year in Australia. Lynda rented a home for Gunnar, Courtney, Mom and I in the Darlinghurst neighborhood of Sydney. We used this as our home base to enjoy the city sights especially the New Year’s Eve events and fireworks.
While we were still working we enjoyed taking care of the kid and finishing the water harvesting, greenhouse and spa projects we had begun.
There were many play days that year with a 3 year old. Trips to the Discovery museum, playing special delivery and bringing us different packages, being a bunny at Easter, playing doctor while Doc McStuffins is on TV, calling out “pups to the tower” during Paw Patrol, field trip to Henry Cowell with preschool, the playground at Skypark, helping wash Sluggie, playing in the bathtub, going to Gilroy Gardens, seeing Porsches at Rennsport, having the cousins over for a bounce house party.
In October 2017, Lynda took me to Vancouver for my birthday and a few days of vacation. We had a great time seeing Jimmy Buffet one night and an NHL game the next. We even took a plane ride tour of the city which was a blast.
As we came to the end of the year, the 3 year old became a 4 year old with all the privileges that come with that change. We got seedlings started in the greenhouse, played some tot soccer at Baymonte, wore various costumes (Chase on the case, Marshall, firefighting captain, SWAT officer, got the pizza oven setup, figured out various ways to wear my helmet, and had a big Christmas.
We ended the year in Nashville for a few days. We had gone to see the New Year’s Eve show and man was it cold that night.
